Cat Canton Rescue, Inc. (“CCR”) is always looking for Foster Care Volunteers. Foster Care Volunteers are the heart and soul of CCR. All of our rescued cats and kittens are cared for in foster homes as CCR does not have a physical animal shelter, so we can only take in a homeless cat when we have a foster home ready to provide temporary care. You help save lives by fostering. All you need is to have a spare room or area to place a crate if needed where mom/kittens can feel safe.
As a CCR Volunteer, you will care for a homeless cat, kitten(s), or litter of kittens until they are adopted. Foster Care Volunteers provides time, pet supplies such as cat litter and food, a place in their home and lots of love. CCR can provide pet supplies if needed. You may need to bring the animal to the veterinarian to be examined, receive vaccinations or other treatment. CCR will provide veterinary care and medicine, plus plenty of support and guidance. Our foster terms range from a few weeks to a few months. Many of the kittens needing foster homes also need help learning how to socialize with people, so being in a home is the ideal place for them.
Our Foster Care Volunteers are critical to our success. There is nothing as rewarding or as bittersweet as watching a successful foster animal move on to its permanent home. It takes a special kind of person to be a foster parent. If you would like to foster, even on a very limited basis, please let us know. We are so in need of foster homes and appreciate all our Foster Care Volunteers. Without them we cannot rescue the next cat in a dangerous situation or provide an emergency rescue which can occur 24/7.
If you are up for the challenge and the reward, and for more information please call Donna at 508-496-9938. Be sure to leave a message if you don’t reach us immediately.
You should also read through our Foster Care Volunteer Agreement which will need to be in effect before you can take home any foster animals.
